
Bakery Closure Schedule
Hello dear friends of Tinder Hearth!
Over here in West Brooksville right now the hearthfires are hot, the snow is blowing, the neighborhood kids are scrapping together a hockey game on bumpy subzero pond ice, and our hearts go out to all the embers of hope and beauty you each are tending with your tenacious care. Thank you. We love you all.
The winter in the barn has been incredible thus far—thank you for coming to be with us in your celebrations, in your grief, in the everyday togetherness that we all need. We are so utterly grateful to get to hold this this space with you all, and share our bright love of this wondrous food and community.
This year we have decided to close the bakery for a longer chunk of winter than we have in the past. This was a difficult decision to make, because, obviously, being here with you in the barn is one of our greatest loves. But our books and bodies and buildings could use a little more rest and maintenance this time of year—as I know all you local buddies deeply understand—so we have decided to take a little bit more time this season.
Here are the details, and I am sorry if this sounds complicated… it’s not, particularly, but bear with me here:
Tinder Hearth in Brooksville will be CLOSED for six weeks: February 16th-March 31st.
The bread and pastry WILL be available out at the stores for the month of March, during the closure.
Tinder Hearth will REOPEN ON APRIL 2ND.
What does this mean? Let me break it down, in calendar order, for those of you wanting details:
1) No bread, no pizza, no cafe, no pastries, anywhere, for two weeks: Feb 16 to Mar 1st.
2) Starting on March 5th, Tinder Hearth will start producing BREAD AND PASTRY ONLY. NO PIZZA, NO COFFEE, NO BRUNCH, NO BARN :( We will be running operations with a very small, pared-down team, focused on wholesale bakery production, and will not have anyone staffing the counter here in the barn.
3) For the month of March bread and pastry will be available for sale, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, at the stores that carry Tinder Hearth (in Deer Isle, Sargentville, Blue Hill, Ellsworth, Brewer and Bangor!), as well as through FarmDrop, and here in the bakery via PREORDER ONLY. So if you want to pick up your bread at the bakery, you will need to order online in advance via our preorder site. We will not have a shelf of bread for walk-in sale here at the bakery.
4) The barn will reopen with the familiar wintertime Wednesday & Saturday bakery cafe, and Friday night pizza, on April 2nd, for a final couple of months of big brunches and extra fun barn pizza nights before we launch into summer 2025!!
Does that make sense? Let’s go over it one more time:: we will be closed here at the bakery for 6 weeks starting Feb 16th, reopening on April 2nd. But you will still be able to track down the bread and pastry during March out at the stores. Yeah? Yeah!
But before all that! Come see the band at the Blue Hill Library this Saturday evening for the Groundhog Day Ball :) And we ARE open until mid Feb, so come soon to visit on a Wednesday morning when the cafe is chillllll, or give us a call if you want pizza and can’t book a res online—we can usually fit anyone in this time of year! And the brunch menus are beyond reasonable, so get over here on a Saturday morning!!!

Holiday Updates!
Hello dear friends-
Tinder Hearth has a couple of schedule announcements regarding the next few weeks, I encourage you to read about them!
ITEM OF NOTE: We will be entirely CLOSED for one week, Dec 22-28, to get some time with our families.
So that means, as we are open THIS WEEK as usual, make sure you stock up your bread this Wednesday or Saturday, to get you through closure! Why does it always seem longer than a week when we close…?
SPECIAL HOLIDAY BREAD: On the solstice—Saturday Dec 21—we will be making a special pecan cranberry orange loaf! This will be available ONLY at the bakery — you can preorder it online (details here) or just hope for some to still be on the shelf when you come over on Saturday for brunch!
NEW YEAR’S DAY BRUNCH: We will reopen after our lil break on Wednesday, January 1st with a special New Year’s Day brunch!! We will be open for an extra hour longer than usual: 9AM-1PM, and will have a special brunch menu— details will get put up online a few days in advance, but I think it’s going to include those fluffy filled donuts that we haven’t seen for a while…. heheheh. So plan your outfit, your date(s) and get over here! How you start your year is how it will proceed, right?
After that we’ll be back to our regular winter schedule programming.

Local Legend Danny Fisher-Lochhead and his incredible Large Ensemble is coming back to the TH Barn!

Danny says:
“We recorded an album last March, called World of Difference, which is currently being mastered and will be released in April '25. We'll be playing mostly music from the record plus some rambunctious new material the band hasn't even seen/heard yet. Come join us in the warm living space at Tinder Hearth within the enveloping darkness of December in Maine.”
Doors open at 5:00 PM, with soup, bread and drinks available for purchase.
Music starts at 7PM.
Children 13 and under get in free.
Music will take place in the barn with seating.

Thanksgiving Week Schedule
Hello friends!
Just a quick word to share with you our plans for the week of Thanksgiving, which is next week! Holy moly.
We will be OPEN for both bread & pizza next week prior to Thanksgiving Day (details below), and then will be CLOSED for Friday and Saturday, Nov 29-30th.
THE PIZZA We are switching up our pizza night next week, will be baking pizza on TUESDAY the 26th 4:30-8:00PM. Take-out is of course available too, if you want to bring pizza home to yours. Reservations will open on Monday morning at 9AM as per usual, and we will be available by phone starting on Monday morning next week, for placing take out orders and answering any questions. We will be closed on FRIDAY the 29th.
THE BREAD We will be baking some special loaves for Wednesday the 27th, along with all of our regular bakery & cafe offerings, available here at the bakery 9AM-12PM. The special loaves will be available here at the bakery in Brooksville only. If there are loaves & pastries of any kind that you really want that day, we strongly recommend PREORDERING! Our online sales website will open on Sunday Nov 24th at 9AM for preorders for pick up on Wednesday. If you are not familiar with our preorder website, you can find it here. Take a look! <3
The specials for the Wednesday bake will be: APRICOT FENNEL WALNUT and POLENTA PUMPKIN SEED HERB
We are sending out our regular loaves to the shelves at our wholesale locations on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, depending on the location. If you have questions about when bread will be available at your store of choice, please send us an email!
The bakery will be closed on Saturday the 30th—no brunch next week! We will resume our regular winter schedule on Dec 1.

Bakery Returns - Winter Schedule
The fires are being lit, and we are so looking forward to the cozy season!! The bakery is reopening this week with our winter schedule. It’ll look familiar— it’s the same as last year!
TINDER HEARTH WINTER SCHEDULE
BAKERY CAFÉ - Wednedsays 9AM-12PM
PIZZA - Fridays 4:30-8PM
BAKERY CAFÉ w/ BRUNCH - Saturdays 9AM-12PM
Some details:
Bread and pastry are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1) the bakery, 2) out at our wholesale locations, and 3) at many local locations via FarmDrop! If you are planning to pickup bread here at the bakery, and don’t want to risk standing in line, you can PRE-ORDER ONLINE! Note, we take preorders a couple days in advance, so you do have to plan it! Otherwise, just come on over to the bakery while we’re open and buy it off the shelf! Hot tip: we don’t typically have much of a line on Wednesdays.
We have brunch going on both Wednesdays and Saturdays, but the menu is more complex, and made-to-order on Saturdays. Check out our weekly menus on here.
Pizza this time of year is a lot easier to access than in the summer. Phew, and hooray! We love the cozy winter season in the barn, with appetizers making it back on the menus. We’re working to build some more seating in the barn, and hopefully will be able to take more walk-ins this winter than in the past.
Pizza reservations open on Mondays at 9AM each week, for that week, and close at 2:30PM of the day of reservation, or when full. We do not offer reservations further in advance. If you would like to check for availability after 2:30PM on a pizza night, please give us a call! And if you want take out, call us! Call earlier in the week to reserve your preferred takeout slot, or call us night of, and we can probably get you a pie pretty quick!

Tinder Hearth is thrilled to announce the upcoming performance of the Debashish Bhattacharya Legacy Trio: Debashish Bhattacharya (Chaturangui, Pushpa Veena), Anandi Bhattacharya (Vocals, Swarmandal), and Subashis Bhattacharya (Tabla).
Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya is arguably the greatest slide guitarist in the world—he is an undisputed master of the demanding technique and discipline of both Hindustani classical music and modern world fusion. This fall Debashish is touring the US with his Legacy Trio, performing a unique tribute to the pioneering Indian recording artists of the early 1900s.
In the 1900s, the early music recording technology of small shellac discs captured renditions of Hindustani classical ragas and popular songs, creating a sensation among the wider populace. This era saw the rise of the first celebrity musicians. The Trio will recreate the spirit and character of these early recordings, performing on Saturday, November 2nd at the Tinder Hearth Barn.
A major highlight of the performance will be the ornate stringed instruments of Debashish’s own design. These include the Chaturangui (Chat = 4, ang = color,“gui” from guitar), a 26-string slide guitar; Pushpa Veena (Pushpa = “flower” Veena = “stringed instrument”), a 25-string hybrid of the sarod and slide guitar; and the delicate Anandi, a 4-string slide ukulele.
The Trio includes Debashish’s daughter Anandi, a gifted vocalist and a rising star in her own right, and Debashish’s younger brother Subhasis, who is recognized as one of the greatest Indian classical percussionists of his generation.
Doors open at 5PM with food and drinks available for purchase outside.
Music starts at 7:00 PM.
Children 13 and under get in free.
Music will be inside, with seating.
Tickets are $35, and advanced purchase is strongly recommended.

Menus! We’re winding down this week, getting ready for our two week break starting on October 13th. Bake & cafe days remain the same — Wednesday and Saturday. Pizza is THURSDAY ONLY this week — we’re hosting an event on Friday and taking the rest of the pizza week off in order to take care of ourselves 🫶🏻

Late September & October Schedule Update
Hello all-
Wow! We’re just landing home from a rowdy experience over in Unity making pizza at MOFGA’s Common Ground Fair! Many thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy the scene and find pizza at TH West! We loved it! <3
UPDATE: The bakery and pizza shop is in the liminal time between our full summer schedule and the off-season quieter months. We have landed on making pizza three nights a week for this period, Wednesday through Friday. Seating will be in the gardens and in the barn, often with the doors open. So please wear your woolies, and expect a beautiful, elemental experience!
So our current schedule is:
BAKERY CAFÉ: WEDNESDAY & SATURDAY - 9AM-NOON
PIZZA DINING & TAKE-OUT: WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY - 4:30-8PM
CLOSURE DETAILS: (1) The pizza shop will be closed for reservations on Fridays Oct 4th and Oct 11th due to private parties. (2) Tinder Hearth as a whole will be closed from October 13th to October 26th for fall maintenance projects. We will reopen that last week of October with our winter schedule, TBA!
One note for your calendars— we are hosting Grammy-nominated Hindustani slide guitarist Debashish Battacharya here in the barn on Nov 2nd, with his Legacy trio. “Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya is arguably the greatest slide guitarist in the world.
